T-1212: Midna's Showcase
ABOUT T-1212: Midna

The Fragment

When the shackles fell from the Nameless King, a shard split from their soul. That shard became a treat and that treat became Midna.
Despite being a part of her soul, Midna retains none of Sheik's memories nor their connection to Dream-Online and its False Nightmare Tree. When Sheik is pulled back into the game, Midna cannot follow. They share a branch, not a soul, not a mind, Midna does not hear her thoughts or feel her emotions. But she knows when Sheik is hurting.
She is but a fragment of Sheik's Calamity. But unlike Sheik who tries to distance herself from her Branch of Calamity, Midna revels in it. She thrives in chaos and confusion. And the only thing she loves more than soaking in calamity, is being the one to cause it.

The Treatling

Midna is, for lack of a better word, a gigantic pain in the ass. Particularly in Sheik's ass. Midna loves nothing more than getting under someone's skin, pushing and pushing until they snap at her - only for her to poof back into Treat Form at the last second, squeaking about how she's ‘just a lil’ guy!’ If that is not enough to pacify her victim then Midna can always scurry behind Sheik for protection. Even the most furious of Stygians tend to think twice when confronted by Sheik. Midna has an uncanny ability to get under people's skin. Somehow she always knows exactly what to say to bother someone, to get the reaction she desires. It's not all harmless teasing and pranks. That same ability can be weaponized. Insecurities are zeroed in on, old wounds and hurts are reopened. And while you bleed out emotionally, Midna smiles - too wide, too sharp.

Midna rarely cares for others beyond how much fun she can have messing with them. She sees the temperamental as easy targets and the stoic as a challenge. Luckily for her targets, Midna's interests wax and wane like the moon. In the same day she can go from viciously mocking you to completely ignoring you in favour of trying to spar with Sheik. She flits quickly from one interest to another like a small bird - or a small child as Sheik would grumble. She picks up many hobbies and goals yet drops them just as quickly once she loses interest. For some, her short attention span is a blessing, for others it's a constant source of annoyance.

Midna is most often spotted travelling across Nightmares and Dreams with Sheik. Whereas Sheik is silent, preferring the less crowded spaces, Midna is loud and outgoing, drawn to bright and crowded spaces like a moth. Midna speaks her mind with no hesitation and on occasion will also speak for Sheik when the Stygian is struggling. Despite how annoying Midna can be to Sheik, they still share a branch and Midna will always be there for Sheik.

The Castle

Ruinous Palace of Calamity

Once a grand and imposing structure, this Palace has since suffered numerous disasters and calamities. Built from a deep red stone, it should have been a structure to last millenia. And yet there are cracks in the floor, holes in the walls where sunlight can stream in. Strange pure white plants crawl in through gaps in the mortar and through windows without panes of glass. Like a disease spreading wildly these plants grow over any available surface. Many small and disused rooms that once belonged to staff and servants in the lower floors have been all but consumed by the plants. There is little that can be done to stop them.

Remnants of the former occupants still remain. Gold trinkets lay in the dirt, gathering dust. Once beautiful and vibrant tapestries have been torn from their railings and left to rot. Portraits of leaders long since forgotten have been disfigured by claws and swords. Weapons and armour can be found in the Armory and Guard Towers, left in their stands and slowly rusting.

Despite the constant reminders that the Palace was abandoned, there are signs that something is living there. A fire burns in a hearth. Food, freshly prepared, lies waiting on the half collapsed dining table of the Great Hall. And yet you see no one other than yourself. Occasionally you will hear footsteps behind you, clear and distinctive, but when you turn around there is no one there. Just a single golden wisp hovering in the air.
