ABOUT L-384: Vincent
Legendary Stygian • Divine • Branch of Media

Vincent

He/Him  ·  CEO of Media  ·  The Feed  ·  Shockwave

Vincent is a Legendary Stygian, a Divine child of the Branch of Media, to be more exact. His nightmare is surveillance, broadcast and control. Beyond the tree, the world is slowly changing as entertainment erodes truth and as propaganda replaces language and community, and Vincent is borne of the nightmares of what might be. He is the act of looking into a world of blackened mirrors and feeling smaller than what looks back.

His human form has a measured, pleasant voice and the kind of handsome face that is built for trust. As a Stygian, he is strange even by the baseline of the species. His face is a television, one that allows him to wear whatever expression he pleases. It is as much a mask as any face could possibly be, and it suits his branch of power just fine.

Vincent thrives where entertainment sinks its claws into belief, where the edges blur between performance and reality. He lives where the cold steel, LED and fibre optics of infrastructure meet powdered glamour, where committees decide what insecurity society wears next. He is power and cynicism, one of the greatest and most modern nightmares. Social media, television, internet, there is deep terror in all of them. He's a nightmare without the bounds of time or place.

To receive his broadcast is to wonder, much too late, which thoughts were ever yours.

Nightmare Kingdom
A skyscraper made of aquariums at the heart of a network of power.
A city that never sleeps, bathed forever in neon.  ·  Secret encrypted stations and forbidden studios.
The surrender of knowing you are being watched.  ·  And that you can do nothing about it.
Entertained, never bored, but always deep down afraid.
Themes & Aesthetics
Television. Internet. Social Media.
Propaganda  ·  Surveillance  ·  Change.
1950s nostalgia, modern minimalism  ·  The memory of CRT and simpler times. The present of high definition.
Cyan test cards  ·  A shadowy shark in the broadcast and logo  ·  Helpless decay, eroded by the signal.
“I’ll put thoughts in your head, and you’ll tell me they were always yours.”
