[IMPROV HANDPUPPET THEATRE] [MYO-378]

[ ABOUT YOUR BOOTH ]:

This booth looks more like a stage than an actual booth. There is a hollowed-out box standing high up, about the height of the chest of the Stygian manning it. Behind the stage there seemed to be a box of colorful flannels, which seem to be different handpuppets upon closer inspection.

The Stygian in charge of the booth seemed preoccupied with setting up some small cardboard props and stage backdrops in the mini stage and he doesn’t notice you approaching. That is, until a nearby brown Treat hops on his head and messes up his hair.

‘Theo what the heck do you wa-‘

His words are cut off as the Treat hops off him and runs to your direction. He finally notices you and frantically reaches down to a smiling mask on his belt, putting it on before finally greeting you.

‘Hello! Welcome to the Improv Handpuppet Theatre! My name is Phaon, and this little Treat is Theobold. We’re here to perform, so sit down and enjoy! Though it seems like we’re missing a character… Would you like to join in?’

[ FESTIVAL ACTIVITY ]:

Phaon and Theo are running a handpuppet theatre, but they would like some audience participation! You can choose to leave (this looks extremely childish after all), you can choose to watch the handpuppets silently, or you can choose to join in on the fun! Near the booth is a box of costumes and props which your Stygian can pick up before interacting with the play, or there is that box of extra handpuppets… Surely, they’re willing to lend you some for the improv?

• If you choose to leave, Phaon laughs and says he understands. The activity does seem very silly after all. He doesn’t want you to leave emptyhanded though, especially after taking your time to stop by and see what they were doing, so he offers you a packaged box of popcorn for you to bring home and enjoy.

• If you choose to stay and watch quietly, Phaon hands a handpuppet to Theo and they start performing a play. However, Theo struggles to follow, and seems to stumble and fail spectacularly, breaking some of the props. Phaon seems to keep calm but does sound a little upset. ‘We’re very sorry to trouble you, but could you help us clean up and fix these props?’

• If you choose to participate, Phaon looks pleased and gestures to the box of costumes and props next to the stage. Theo however looks like he has other plans. He sneaks to the box of handpuppets at the back and gives you a look. Seems like he’s willing to grab one for you if you wanted one.
