Daydreams are friends for your Stygians!
Not all dreams and nightmares are created equal. Some bits are strong enough to take form, but aren't quite big enough to become Stygians or Treatlings. These small fragments instead become daydreams -- semi-intelligent beings that wander the world of dreams and nightmares as generally benign creatures of the wild. They effectively act as collectable pets that your Stygian can keep around, adore, and train. Some daydreams are rarer than others, and they all come in all shapes, colours, and sizes. Most daydreams even come with stats and elements of their own, and you can use them in Adventuring!

What is a Daydream?
Daydreams are bits of dreams and nightmares that don't quite come together to form a full thought. They act more akin to animals, being incapable of speech or complex tasks without training, but still having their own distinct personalities and emotions. Most daydreams are small and friend-shaped, though some legendary daydreams are a bit larger...
Daydreams can be unique in personality, but are not unique by appearance and species. Multiple Stygians can own the same daydream, and the same Stygian can own multiple of the same daydream! Though a daydream may have a minor appearance quirk that distinguishes them (such as a nicked ear, or one spot of different colour), by appearance the same species of daydream looks mostly the same. For example, there can exist a koobo distinguishable by its white toes, but a normal koobo cannot come in a non-existent pink variation.
Being made of weaker, less dense energy than a fully formed Stygian, the average daydream has some trouble maintaining a solid shape for long if they are tired. If they become tuckered out, they will simply disappear to conserve strength -- but not to worry, they'll return back to form soon enough!
Daydreams have four tiers of rarity, that usually signify their abundance and their strength.
Not very strong, but makes up for it in numbers and friendliness!
A slightly less common tier of daydreams. Some come with special abilities.
The rarest of your average daydreams, and stronger than common and uncommon daydreams both. They almost always come with a neat special daydream ability!
The rarest and strongest of daydreams. Legendary tier daydreams always come with a [UNIQUE] adventuring ability -- a limited special skill with powerful effects.
Where do I get a daydream?
Daydreams can be obtained through various events, achievements, gardening, fishing, and more! Additionally, you may purchase some with shadow tokens in the Daydream Shop!
What can I do with daydreams?
Daydreams effectively act as your Stygians' pets! Much like real life pets, they are semi-intelligent creatures, and though incapable of speech, can be trained by Stygians (and Treatlings alike) to perform tricks, help around the kingdom a little, or simply be a comforting ally.
In ARPG purposes, a Stygian's daydreams can be included in writing or drawing quests for a skill point bonus! Do note that they can only be included in Stygian questing, and daydreams or any creatures that resemble existing daydreams cannot be included in a Stygian's masterlist cert artwork. Additionally, you can evolve some daydreams by feeding them skill points! Please see the Daydream Dex to see what daydreams can evolve!
In addition to being used in questing, daydreams can be equipped onto your Stygians and be used as allies who will fight along with you in Adventure Battles! By attaching a daydream to a Stygian from their daydream profile, you can then select them in your Party Configuration menu. Each daydream has its own battle values, and some even have a special secondary effect, both of which become stronger with higher rarity daydreams!
Adventuring with Daydreams
When a Stygian has daydreams equipped, they may take one of their daydreams into adventuring to help in battles! Each and every daydream has its own individual physical attack and magical attack values, as well as its own element. By using elemental strengths and weaknesses to your advantage, daydreams can help provide that extra boost to nudge your team towards victory!
You can equip a daydream to your Stygian for adventuring through your Party Configuration menu. Once equipped, that daydream can be used to deal an attack to the enemy with their given attack values and their given element. Note that an equipped daydream will not attack with the same element as the Stygian it is equipped to, but will attack with its own element!
Legendary daydreams have what are known as [ UNIQUE ] skills. Unique skills are useable only once, but are generally powerful skills that are nigh-exclusive to that legendary. Only one unique skill, whether that is from weapons, skills, or daydreams, can be equipped on a Stygian; furthermore, unique skills cannot overlap, and multiple Stygians in the same party cannot have the same unique skill equipped.
Most daydreams can only be used once per fight. However, there are some special daydreams that can be used to "reset" your Stygian's used daydreams and weaponskills, allowing you to use them more than once!
Daydream Evolution
Some daydreams can actually be evolved through feeding them skill points. By doing so, you can make your daydream stronger and even increase its rarity!

How do I evolve a daydream?
To evolve a daydream, it must first be equipped on a Stygian so that it can receive skill points. This can be done by selecting your daydream from your owned daydreams page, or from your Stygian page, where you can select the button from their Daydream tab.
Once a daydream has been assigned to a Stygian with spare skill points, this window will appear on their daydream page. By feeding them skill points from your Stygian, you can potentially evolve the daydream!
Simply hit that button, and watch your daydream grow!
