[ TRIAL BY FIRE... CRACKERS? ] [ MYO - 983 ]

[ ABOUT YOUR BOOTH ]: 

As you saunter around the festival, your eyes have to adjust to a rather brightly lit booth hosted by a very long dragon stygian and what seemingly appears to be its butterfly familiars. Once you can fully see what's going on, you spot a rather large amount of firecrackers, including some held by some of the stygian's butterflies. When you ask the stygian what's going on here, it tilts its head as if it's curious on why you asked, and then simply replies with 'fortune telling'.  

....Fortune telling? With firecrackers? Before you can ask "is this even safe? How has this booth not burned down yet? Is it even legal to employ one's own butterfly familiars?", one of the butterflies hands you one of the firecrackers, already pre-lit with one of their flames:

The stygian running the booth hasn't even spoken a word to you beyond 'fortune telling', but weirdly, you feel compelled to toss it and watch it go. As you toss the firecracker and it hits the ground, you understand immediately what the stygian meant. As the flames jump and dance in various, wild colours, deep within them, you see...

[ FESTIVAL ACTIVITY ]: 

Write or draw about what your stygian sees in the flames of the firecracker- If you're interested in a little RNG, roll an 8 sided dice in the comments and go with whatever your roll resulted in:

• 1 - Something Desired: The flames flicker furiously with a bright gold, and suddenly, you can clearly make out the image of something you've always wanted- hooray! What is it that your heart desires so much?
• 2 - The Future: The flames jump up and down wildly until you can make out a vision of something that hasn't happened yet. Is it as mundane as a visit to a friend, or is it the prelude to an epic journey?
• 3 - The Past: The flames burn smoothly, rising with a crescendo until suddenly, you can clearly see a vision of your past! Is this a deep look into yourself of many dreams past, or is it just a flashback to today's breakfast?
• 4 - Something Frightening: With a rather ferocious bang as the flames rise, you're suddenly witnessing something that you'd much rather not see in a supposed fortune... The flames surrounding the vision don't help, either... What's in there that's scaring you so bad?
• 5 - Oops: You look a little too closely trying to discern what the blurred image within the flames is- and the flames fizzle out right into your face, leaving you a little singed...
• 6 - Something Secret: Eep! Without giving you a second to take it in, one of your secrets pops up quite clearly within the flames! How scanadalous (or not) is it?
• 7 - The Present: With a little spin, the flames circle around themselves, taking a rather obnoxiously long time... Until you can finally see within them lies a vision of.... Yourself standing there, looking at the flames. Inside the vision, you can see an even smaller version of the same image. Huh.
• 8 - Something Treasured: The flames spark brightly with a deep red as within its core, you spot something (or, perhaps, someone) you deeply treasure, cradled by the flames. What is it that you cherish so?

You're completely free to take these prompts as seriously or unseriously as you'd like, edit them and/or their results, or even make up your own result!
