HOW TO TRAITS AND POTIONS BACK TO Creating Your Characters

Apothecary potions are a main feature of the Nightmare Realm! With potions, a Stygian can change their traits and become the Stygian they always wanted to be!

 General Potion Information
  • ALL DETAILED TRAIT INFO IS HERE:  All Stygian Traits and  All Treatling Traits
  • Using an apothecary potion changes the actual design of your Stygian or Treatling.
  • You may change/modify your Stygian with a max of 16 potions at one time, and your Treatling with a max of 6 potions at one time.
  • The max number of traits a single Stygian form can have is 20 (not counting default traits). A Treatling can have a max of 10 traits.
  • All traits must be visible in the Masterlist Art. The only exception are traits that  have no way of being depicted, such as Size-Changer or Non-Manifested Primordial.
  • You may redraw your Stygian/Treatling with the new traits or edit the base (existing art) to show the new traits.
  • Please follow the FULL TRAITS GUIDE on what is allowed for your potion. Once you are ready, use the MYO REDEEM PAGE to drop off your updated art. A mod will review your submission.
  • Once approved, we will update your current masterlist image with the updated image!
 Information on changing existing traits:
  • You can remove traits from your Stygian or Treatling for free as long as removing such traits does not lower the rarity of your Stygian.
    • Rarity is based on subspecies then traits, and which ever is greater is applied to the Stygian. For example on a common subspecies: 2 uncommon traits or 1 rare trait grants uncommon rarity, while 2 rare traits grants rare rarity.
  • Traits cannot be swapped or changed to a new trait for free. Instead, use potions to overwrite existing traits, or a rewind ticket to reset your traits.
  • The way a trait is physically expressed cannot be changed without applying a new potion to the Stygian. For example: Feather wings cannot change to bat wings unless a new back wings potion is used. Elemental Auras cannot change to a new type of element (eg: fire to ice) without using a new potion, as well.
  • Hairstyles and non-magical accessories can change freely as long as they fit the size requirements for their trait level!
  • Potions cannot be used to fully redesign a Stygian. They can only be used to add traits, change the way some traits look, or change the colour of a Stygian. The Stygian should still look like the same design, however. If you would like to fully redesign an existing Stygian use a Rewind Ticket.

  • Please note: Updating/Rewinding older Stygian does mean the new version have to follow current trait rules.
    • This includes updating the art of an existing Stygian - all traits will need to fit current rules in order for the art update to be applied.
    • Older Stygian with undocumented/no-longer legal traits will lose those traits if they are updated.
    • For Stygian that had undocumented traits that were later added as real traits (for example, a Stygian that had a fantasy tail before fantasy tails existed) will need to have the corresponding potion bought and added in order to keep the trait when updating the Stygian.

TYPES OF POTIONS
 REGULAR POTIONS:
  • You can see all Stygian Trait Information HERE
  • Usable on Stygian only. This includes Treatling Stygian Disguises and Diver Artificial Stygian forms.
  • Usable at the time of Stygian creation or any time after creation.
  • Can be applied to Guardians and Alt Forms.
  • Potions can be obtained in various places! Some can come from the Item Shop, or from other shops around the site, as well as events and in various other places.
  • Potions can only affect one form of a Stygian. Meaning if your Stygian has mutlipe forms, you will need to apply a new potion to each form you want to have the trait.
    • The exception to the above is Legendary Traits. Most Legendary traits can be carried over to other alt forms for free. These alt forms can be updated one at a time.
  • Potions cannot be applied to the Styx subspecies, as they do not have any traits.
  • Some potions are Restricted - this means they cannot be added to any Stygian or MYO without owning that specific potion. (Be sure to check the individual trait page, as some restricted traits can be inherited, but some cannot.)
 GUARDIAN POTIONS:
  • You can view all Guardian Trait Information HERE
  • Guardian Traits are special traits that must be unlocked in order to be applied to a Stygian. Cannot be applied to Styx.
  • Can be applied to Stygian Disguise and Artificial Stygian forms as well.
  • There are four possible ways to unlock a Guardian Trait Slot
    • Inheriting Guardian Traits: A new Guardian Stygian can inherit Guardian Traits if three conditions are met: Their Blessing Stygian have the two traits needed to unlock the desired Guardian Trait, there is a rolled (or bought) rare trait slot for the Guardian's inherited trait allowances, and you have the potion to apply to the Guardian. See the Guardian MYO page for more details.
      • Requires: Blessing Traits for unlock + Rare Trait Slot (rolled or bought) + Guaridan Potion.
      •  Guardian Traits cannot be directly inherited from a blessing. A Stygian with body rings cannot pass that trait down directly - Guardian traits can only be inherited in the manner above. Body rings would instead need to be added using one of the manners below.
    • Job Classes: Some Job Classes can unlock a Guardian Trait slot for the Stygian with that job skill. These are Explorer Level 1 (requires the desired potion as well), Librarian Level 1, and Pirate Level 1 (no potion needed). These can only be applied once to the Stygian, to one of its forms.
      • Requires Unlocked Job Class Level + Guardian Potion for Explorer. No potion for Librarian or Pirate.
    • The Legendary Primordial Trait: comes with an automatically unlocked Guardian Trait slot when it is applied to a Stygian form. A Guaridan Trait Potion is still required to fill that unlocked trait slot. This unlock works for every form that has Primordial carried to it. Each form will require it's own Guaridan Trait Potion.
      • Requires Primordial Trait + Guardian Potion.
    • Guardian Contracts: You can use a Guardian Trait Contract to unlock a Guaridan Trait slot for any Stygian (save Styx) that does not have an unlocked Guardian trait slot. Max 3 Guardian Contracts can be applied to a Stygian. Guardian Contract unlocks do not carry over to alt myo forms.
      • Requires Guaridan Contract + Guardian Potion

 FULL COLOUR POTIONS:
  • Allows you to change the colour and markings of your Stygian.
  • Use this for changing the base colours of a Stygian, changing the main markings of your Stygian, adding/removing/changing a large amount of secondary colours or markings.
  • Use one Recolour Potion for each alt form you are changing.
  • Minor changes (less than 20%) to a Stygian's secondary colours / minor markings do not require a recolour potion.
    • For example, changing the eye colour, changing some streaks of blue hair to red, or spots on the face to stripes does not require a recolour potion (but all three changes together likely would need a recolour potion).
  • Recolour Potions do NOT affect traits or rarity in any way, only the colours and markings.
    • Recolour potions only afftect the colour and markings on your Stygian. The traits and design should otherwise stay exactly the same (lineart included). Think of it like recolouring a template.
  • Can only be used on Stygian, Stygian Disguise Forms, and Artificial Stygian Forms. (Only on Stygian/Stygian forms)
 TREATLING POTIONS:
  • You can view all Treatling Trait Information HERE
  • Usable on Treatlings only.
  • Does not carry over to Stygian Disguise forms or Treat forms,
  • Usable at the time of Treatling creation/evolution or any time after creation/evolution.
  • Potions can be obtained in various places! Some can come from the Item Shop, or from other shops around the site, as well as events and in various other places.
  • Some potions are Restricted - this means they cannot be added to any Stygian or MYO without owning that specific potion. As well, some traits are Treatling Subspecies specific - so be sure to check the trait information!
