◘ Nightmare theme: Inferiority

Rocco feeds on nightmares in which the dreamer feels inferior to another character in their life, in this case, Rocco impersonating them. Common nightmares are workplace, school and sports related, where the dreamer is always outshined by the character, seeing themselves constantly fail, embarrass themselves and lose valued things, creating feelings of envy, jealousy, spite, anger and inferiority.

If Rocco actually likes the dreamer, he will eventually manifest a Phoenix rooster as a wake-up call.

◘ Kingdom: 

The kingdom is a huge grassy plain with lakes with fish and chickens/roosters wandering around, watching you. Where nothing else but a massive Palace resides. 

The palace itself is a mix of a university and a regular palace. There are libraries, experiment rooms, Living rooms, luxuries of all kinds, anything you could ask for to feel settled. The more Rocco is well fed, the bigger it gets. 

There are residents in the area, constituting of small night terrors, daydreams and dream entities who enjoy the luxury of the palace and are willing to do things for Rocco in exchange of protection.

These residents seem to worship the ground Rocco passes by, holding legit love and care for him. However, when he’s away, they will latch and adore whoever else is there. First time visitors who have stumbled upon his realm may be caught off guard at first. It is a process where they will do it for as long as they are uncomfortable with it. Once the visitors feel comfortable with this spoiling, the entities will start comparing them to their oh-so-long-gone master, how much they miss him, and how much they remind them of him, even if there are absolutely NO resemblance. That is until Rocco arrives/meets them, and so the entities will go back to serving him and almost ignore their existence. 

If Rocco is a friend of the visitor, they will treat them cordially and give much more attention, being friendly, but not overly cherishing as seen before.

In truth, Rocco absolutely hates the drama his own kingdom brings, and tries not inviting people for the nature of it. It works as a feeding device, but he’d rather not deal with drama from people being mad about them.

A stygian who has resigned to their fate, Rocco has just accepted that his life will be full of drama, whether he likes it or not. The nature of his nightmare, his kingdom,  the people he attracts all contributed to a character who responds to everything thats dramatic or overly emotionally challenging with contempt, apathy and avoidance. Not out of fear, but more of exhaustion.

Hes a scholar, loving to learn things and shows great intellect and smarts, after long periods of isolation the ability of knowledge is what brings him joy, but he'd very much would rather be able to do it by peaceful means. 

But behind this shell of tiredness, there is a man who truly has a heart of gold. Courageous, protective and caring. He has the potential to be a good person. It just takes a very specific type of person to bring that out of him

◘ History: 

A nightmare born out of a young prince who envied his brother, who was the first throne successor. The prince was plagued for years by this nightmare, where the brother would steal everything from him. His throne, his riches, his love. It was horrifying for him that one day, once everyone in the palace was asleep, he snuck inside his brother's room and killed him out of pure madness.
