whispers creeping down cobblestone streets, closed doors, and lanterns behind closed curtains.
"A fear or nightmare that grows in the ethereal spaces between the known and unknown, from both the terror of mystery, and discovery, that may yet be equally as terrifying."
? The Scholar ?

The second guardian awoken by Lock, with the ancient siren of the Aetheneum, Seraph considers Lock his "father" and is extremely loyal to him.
His core nightmare was the fleeting tension of a scholar; during the apprehensive moment between the unknown and known, as he turned the pages of a mysterious tome.
When the fragment was discovered, it was barely there, a tiny fear hardly crystalized. The pair told it a tale of the unknown, of the vast endless voids of space, and the unfathomable abyss of the ocean. Together they described all the haunting beauty of the darkest and most enigmatic corners of their own kingdoms, awakening him empowered with these fears.
Seraph is skittish and shy, seeming to jump at every sound and dread every corner. In spite of this, he is desperately curious, particularly drawn to "forbidden" knowledge and constantly seeking to know the unknowable.
He puts special research and effort into the modification of his own body, learning to mutate himself into as many bizarre new forms as he can. In his first and most favored form as a Page, his strange mutant tail whispers dark thoughts and demands, urging him to delve further into forbidden knowledge.
