Masterlist Entry

The Virulent is a miserable little creature, among the most petty and vain of Ember's court. They are constantly at war with the disgust they feel at serving anything but their own desires, but is bound to their whims due to a ritual given to them by the Occultist. They are a deliverator of ill-gotten goods and tinctures, often the courier of their court.

That's not to say they are without their own powers: The Virulent is a conjurer in their own right, and an excellent charmer of animals and mighty creatures of myth, although it does not last forever. In fact, the ritual used by Ember was one that turned their own power against them and keeping it that way in a bond that connects them inextricably.

Their realm is a lush and vast greenhouse, full of flowers and trees and summer rain, always a bit too warm to be truly comfortable.
