Born from a nightmare of a world in peril and an impossible quest, Grael is a hero prophesized to save his kingdom but constantly fails, with his world repeatedly being destroyed and then resetting itself. The denizens do not remember his previous failures and continue to have high expectations for him, and he's doomed to fail them again and again.

He tries to remain cheerful and optimistic and helpful, but he's really worn down.
