Baal is a creation from two worlds. Sculpted from the ether out of shadow, Ember's influence in them exerts itself over Chaos', whose power to create was stolen in bits and pieces, tendrils of it slowly unwinding in his carelessness, capitalized on by Ember and their court.

Their realm is directly adjacent to Ember's-- as all of their court-- and is a luxurious and palatial place. The sun shines bright and white against a pale sky, a stark difference from both of their creators. 

The Dissonant refuses to partake in power games or arts of war: they are a simple creature who longs to follow their impulses and have fun, even if their definition of fun is questionable-- but Ember is clever, and so Baal is often easily manipulated in a game of cat and mouse that they are unaware they're playing.
