You have made a pact with something larger than yourself, and it is exacting its price.

 

Ember is kind at first glance, but there is a cold cruelty that lies beneath their beatific smile. They are driven by their own thirst for power, but unlike Chaos, they are patient. They have slowly amassed an empire of allies whose power is bound to them, and is constantly seeking out methods to slowly increase their influence over nightmares. All the members of their court have realms that neighbor Ember's own, cutting a huge swath of green and black worlds together in the greater nightmare realm.

While they pledge allegiance to Athro and pay service to him, it is out of self-interest only, which he understands. Ember is incapable of serving blindly, and no amount of power and influence will ever be enough. They seek to ascend themselves into something greater.

It is not done with bloodthirst. They intend to wage no wars, slay no army, conquer no lands. They desire influence over the greater realms, longing to have the ability to alter things from the shadows, and is willing to make any sacrifices necessary to do so.

In personal interactions, they are very sweet and invested in what others have to say and do. They can be a good friend and has historically given advice that is more altruistic than their own nature-- Ember does not wish to rule with tyranny, after all. Many of these friends are also considered resources to be drawn on or tools to be used, but that does not mean their fondness isn't genuine.

 

Their realm is a massive estate in a black and green world. Their central home is manor with a larger interior than exterior, a labyrinthe of rooms all done up in gothic design. The estate also contains a massive garden, a large lagoon, numerous guest homes, and a crypt that should not be investigated.
