While he might be intimidating due to his macabre aesthetic and the fact that his list of hobbies includes things like necromancy, he's actually a kind-hearted and gentle soul who's always willing to lend a helping hand, or an ear. The hand just might not be his. 

Spends most of his time shut away in his kingdom, where he keeps vast libraries of magic tomes and almost-forgotten knowledge; as well as labs where he practices science and alchemy. As well, he's a skilled musician and composer, well-versed in a number of instruments-- though his favored is the piano.

While he's a gentle soul, he's not a particularly happy one-- he's spent a long time battling depression and grief after the loss of his old love and facing the horrors of a long-ago war. In recent years, he's started to open up and reach out again, finding a new flame in Somnus and a like-minded collaborator in the sciences in Thales.
