Ingvar is a knight of Ránnulfr, whose kingdom sits sidelong to his own. But where
Ránnulfr is secluded and morose, Ingvar is reckless and quick to anger. He resents having
to serve a master that seems to be completely disinterested in him, but feels a reluctant
sense of loyalty owing to his own intense hatred of the now deceased Snow Queen. He
gets along fairly well with Ránnulfr's loyal treatling companion, Eindride, but is constantly
at odds with Ránnulfr's rebellious daughter, Oblivion. But in spite of this, Ingvar is a
strong-minded, strong-willed, ultimately good hearted stygian, even if he is also continually
rising up against his upbringing and place in the Nightmare Kingdom.

Ingvar's kingdom is a frozen city as cold as both Ránnulfr and Eindride's homes, though his
is much more bright and welcoming. There are always roaring fires and the scent of good food
and a cacophony of music that sounds like bagpipes or an organ or both. Everything is warm
and inviting, in spite of the atmosphere, and it seems to be welcoming to anyone who visits.
