A fantastical nightmare about a dying world. There's a chance to save it, and despite all odds you take it. Through the fear, through the helplessness, you race across the islands floating high in the sky, through their towns and cities in a race against the clock. But in the light of the sunset, as the day draws to a close, there comes the realization. There is no time left, and no hope. The islands are crumbling, and the sun is setting. All you can do is sit, alone on the edge of the world, and wait. The end of the world is quieter and calmer than you ever thought it could be.

About

During their search for allies, Somnia and Rui came across Sundance's kingdom by accident, stumbling through the clouds in the sky as the nightmare was in full swing and the 'world' was ending. They witnessed it play out, after which Sundance flew out of the cloud cover to reset the islands for the next nightmare. He met the two with easy friendliness, and Somnia was quite intrigued by him the more they conversed. Even after the two went on their way, Sundance kept up with them, and both he and Somnia visit each others kingdoms now and again.

Sundance will willingly help Somnia and the others with any problems that crop up, provided it isn't too involved a task. He sees himself as a free spirit, and refuses to be tethered to anything beyond his kingdom (and even that he tends to quite carefreely). This includes refusing to house his kingdom within Somnia's, despite the offer, which was appreciated.

He prefers to spend his days in the skies of his realm, at ease, though always keeping an eye out for anything interesting. Hey, even peaceful days can get a little boring...

Kingdom: The Ending Islands

Sundance's kingdom encompasses a great cluster of floating islands, suspended in an endless sky, and an endless loop. These islands are covered in quaint towns and shining cities, bustling with life. A main island in the center of the cluster bears a gigantic tree, visible from all the islands - it is the Tree of Life, keeping the islands suspended and flourishing.

And it is fading.

With its slow death begins the quiet crumbling of the islands, the drawn out destruction of all you've known, or all you think you've known. Nightmares often involve the dreamer being pushed by the deseperate need to intervene, the idea that there is a chance to stop the world's end. They'll race through the towns, the cities, the fields, to reach the docks and the airship that would carry them to the island where the Tree of Life rests. But somewhere along the way, as the sun begins to set, the realization, the unerring truth settles in - that regardless of what one does, the Tree will die. The world is going to end. You can spend it in panic and despair, or...

You can sit on the edge of a small island, decorated only in grasses and flowers rustling in the breeze, let your legs swing in the air, and watch the sunset. All around, earth and stone crumble away from the islands, but you fix your eyes on the sun as it slowly disappears into the darkening sky. It is quiet, it is calm, and it is the end.
